AIDS Control Programme in Assam:
The AIDS Control Programme in Assam started as the State AIDS Cell which was established in 1992 in the office of the Director of Health Services, Assam under the National AIDS Control Organization (NACO) and it implemented the National AIDS Control Programme (NACP) Phase I from 1992 to 1998.
In October, 1998 the Assam State AIDS Control Society was formed and registered under the Societies Registration act as per directive given by Government of India. Since then Assam State AIDS Control Society has implemented the Phase II (1999-2007) and Phase III (2007-till date).
The Fourth Phase of the National AIDS Control Programme will be rolled out from the second half of 2012.
ASACS observes National Youth Day
